What happens: If you’re interested in getting to know finleap better, our recruiters will set up an informal call to give you some further insight into our ecosystem and what it’s like to work here.

Tip #1: Feel free to ask us anything you are curious about and share what the important factors of your personal work environment and future career development are. This helps us determine if our open positions match your expectations!

So you’ve applied for an open position…

What happens: Our recruiters will get right onto screening your application!

Tip #2: When submitting your CV or resume, make sure it’s clearly structured and align your skills and experience with the job description. This allows our recruiters to fully understand your skills and experience. Things like pictures, gender, marital status or age don’t need to be on your CV Also feel free to add some fun facts in your motivation letter as to what you do outside of work, and most importantly, avoid typos!

Your first call with a finleap recruiter.

What happens: After screening your application, our recruiters will host an introductory call with you to get to know you better and discuss the open position in detail.

Tip #3: Before interview rounds, be sure to find out what finleap & our ecosystem do! Make sure you know the highlights of your CV and be prepared to share some background on why you’ve taken certain steps in your career. When preparing for an interview, we recommend evaluating your past experiences and examining what you want out of the future. At the end of the day, we want you to let us know what you are looking for and what motivates you as a person.

Second call with the hiring manager.

What happens: During this call, the manager who’s team you’re looking to join is looking to understand your functional / technical approach when it comes to the role.

Tip #4: Prepare to talk about your expertise and what excites you about what you do. Make sure you’re ready to discuss specific projects you’ve worked on, as well as how you measured the success of said projects. If any unexpected or difficult questions come up, don’t worry, just take a deep breath and try to answer as confidently as you can. At the end of the day, there are very few questions you can answer completely wrong or completely right, try to share your chain of thought and think about how you would usually solve this issue. Above all, be yourself!

Case study / Coding challenge

What happens: We will give you either a case study or a coding challenge to assess your technical skills in relation to the skills required for the open position.

Tip #5: Make sure you complete these in a quiet, relaxing environment where you can focus and give it your best shot! We really want to understand your workflow and how you’d solve a certain problem.

The face-to-face interview

What happens: If possible, you’ll visit us at our H:32 office in Berlin and meet some of your future teammates, your hiring manager, and your recruiter in person!

Tip #6: Don’t worry about dressing incredibly fancy, at our office, everyone dresses how they feel most comfortable! During the interview, try to keep your answers straight and to the point, and it’s always helpful to mention examples to back up any points you make. The purpose of this interview is to determine your fit into the team, so also think about what’s important to you in terms of your work environment & team collaboration.

Job offer

What happens: Your recruiter will touch base with you regarding your job offer via a telephone call. If you’ve got the job, you will receive an official offer via email.

Tip #7: Be sure to check the email you provided us regularly after receiving an offer call from us!  If you have any questions regarding your offer, be sure to reach out to your recruiter as soon as possible.
